Make a scanned PDF searchable
A scanned page is an image until text recognition gives you a text layer. Searchable export is useful when the recipient needs to find words in a PDF.
- Open the scanned PDF in DocMate and check that pages are oriented and readable.
- Run OCR using the available OCR action. Choose an appropriate supported language where offered.
- Search or select a known word and compare the recognized text with the visible page.
- If searchable PDF export is available with your Pro access, create the export and reopen the exported file in a PDF viewer. Search a word again to check the delivered file.
